Brown-Forman Procurement Manager- Corporate & Marketing (Remote Work Opportunity) in Cincinnati, Ohio

Working in a fast paced dynamic environment, this is a significant opportunity to help drive improvement to the company’s bottom line and to interface with leaders across the enterprise while building a solid procurement foundation for future growth. This position will be a part of the Global Business Solutions (GBS) department (Procure to Pay). This position will be primarily focused on Marketing and Corporate Categories. -Hiring Manager

Meaningful Work From Day One:

The Indirect Procurement team works with all areas of the Corporate Functions (i.e.Marketing, Travel, WorkPlace Strategy, HR, e-Commerce, Global Mobility, etc.) identifying opportunities to improve cost, process improvements, improve profitability, cost containment/avoidance and optimize sourcing opportunities. This position will be focused on Marketing procurement and should have some knowledge working in this area with agencies, promotional activities and materials.

What You Can Expect:

  • Lead Sourcing Market analysis, risk mitigation, supplier innovation, and value delivery in designated categories, while adhering to standardized B-F Strategic Sourcing policies and procedures.

  • Create and implement category sourcing strategies working with senior category management, coordinate with regional and local sourcing resources as needed, and build stakeholder alignment. Work closely with key internal customers across the organization, to develop effective cost reduction strategies, while meeting specification standards. Support on-going supplier selection and evaluation process.

  • Negotiate and implement major commercial agreements, and resolve supplier disputes while maintaining a high standard of ethics. Work closely with Legal Department

  • Lead key supplier development and improvement efforts, with a special focus on supplier efficiencies, accuracy and Supplier Diversity. Maintain key performance metrics appropriate for each category and suppliers. Build effective, consistent, and equitable strategic supplier relationships, while maintaining a high standard of ethics.

  • Support and leverage financial and spend systems. Develop proficiency of tools and systems to support procurement, invoice processing and other. Process Purchase Orders (POs) for materials and services.

  • Develop the capabilities of assigned Sourcing teams and team members.

  • Partner with teams and stakeholders to define the long term vision, the creation of processes/catalogs/vendor practices to support business needs and ease of use, drive behaviors to common suppliers and processes, remove obstacles to usage, communicate benefits and encourage users, and develop excellent supplier relationships and performance.

  • Lead and coordinate efficiencies for category management and procurement. This includes development of key performance and standard metrics working with end users and technical support.

What You Bring to the Table:

  • Education: College/University (Bachelors or Equivalent); Supply Chain, Engineering, Finance, or related field

  • Experience: minimum 5+ years sourcing and supply chain experience

  • Understanding of marketing concepts.

  • Ability to develop strategic sourcing vision and plans, and implement through exceptional execution.

  • Superior negotiation skills and ability to influence.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Able to persuade, motivate and compel support for key ideas and initiatives, via persuasive discussions, and delivering clear and concise presentations.

  • Ability to influence decision making, and create consensus, in cross-functional and multi-site teams, and with suppliers.

  • Knowledge of finance and financial methods, with the ability to translate analysis into strategies, actions, and results.

  • Ability to identify and focus on top priorities, and balance multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.

  • Ability to foster a high performance environment among diverse individuals, including developing procurement talent.

  • Demonstrated ability to influence and drive change among stakeholders.

  • Ability to travel internationally.

What Makes You Unique:

  • Experience: World class ERP and spend management system experience (SAP/Coupa/Concur, etc.).

  • Fundamental understanding of contract terms and conditions.

  • Spirits, beer, wine, beverages, food, pharmaceutical or CPG industry experience.

  • Experience performing in a matrix organization. Ability to move between roles of team member and team leader.
