Leads and manages the Production Planning and Materials Management team (three direct reports) for the BenRiach bottling facility. Responsible for bottling operations scheduling, materials planning and procurement, finished good inventory strategies, and integrity of related SAP master data inputs for approximately 800,000 flat cases. Leads the manages the relationship with contract bottling clients. Primary interface with raw material suppliers to enable an uninterrupted flow and on time delivery of materials.
Basic Function: Responsible for the management and coordination of all bottling production schedules, bottling materials planning, and raw material procurement and warehouse activities to ensure uninterrupted performance the bottling operation. Responsible to maintain inventory and production of finished goods to meet customer requirements. Responsible to execute and monitor material planning transactions to ensure on time and on budget requirements for products. Serves as primary contact for contract bottling clients.
Leads and manages the Production Planning and Materials Management team activities required to ensure uninterrupted operations of the BenRiach bottling facility.
Responsible for providing leadership and direction in the development of short and long term production planning and execution throughout the supply chain. Leverages the global sales and operations planning process and ERP planning tools to do so.
Responsible for accurate assembly of SAP master data for raw materials.
Lead and manage purchasing function and inventory control processes which ensures the availability of raw materials while managing cost.
Negotiate competitive prices for all raw materials with vendors who’s company culture aligns with Brown-Forman / BenRiach values. Ensure that all procurement activities are consistent with Corporate policies, guidelines, and standards
Ensure that vendor performance to cost, quality, and delivery parameters are evaluated and corrective actions are put in place to maintain standards. Performs vendor analysis and audits to maintain positive vendor alliances.
Develop finished good inventory strategies to avoid out of stocks and late shipments.
Monitor and provide regular reports on slow moving and obsolete inventories.
Develop strategies to manage obsolescence cost that meet objectives during material transitions.
Develops and implements cost saving ideas and strategies.
In collaboration with the Production Operations Director leads or manages the relationship with contract bottling clients; specifically opportunity assessment, quoting, raw material delivery, and production planning.
Provide coaching and opportunities to direct reports for personal development and growth. Resolve performance issues through coaching and/or coordination with HR for training and development. Sets the example for the performance management process.
Documents operating procedures for department.
Oversees accurate generation of monthly inventory reports.
Bachelor’s Degree in business or related field with 7 - 10 years relevant experience in procurement, production scheduling, and inventory management.
Demonstrated inclusive leadership and excellent communication skills. Ability to build and sustain excellent business relationships (internally and externally) as well as high functioning teams.
Strong business, financial, and analytical acumen. Strong understanding of supply chain processes, continuous improvement methodologies, and quality.
Experience in the day to day operations with computer integrated manufacturing system, SAP.
Demonstrated ability to prepare effective management reports and clearly relay information to all levels of the company.
Demonstrated ability to lead, coordinate, and manage multiple projects.
Ability to diagnose issues, problem solve solutions, and pursue continuous improvement opportunities.
Experience in consumer packaging.
Master’s Degree in Business Administration.
Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire salaried and hourly employees.
Spirits industry experience.
