Brown-Forman Senior Finance Analyst in Istanbul, Turkey
What You Will Do in This Role
Key member of Brown Forman Finance team reporting into Finance Manager Turkey. Among the key scope of the role is to: Contribute to achievement of profit growth targets by providing leadership and evolution in the space of data driven analytics and business Insights. Drive and continuously improve business reporting in the areas of volume, pricing, profitability, cost management, investment effectiveness, etc.. Play a pivotal role in Resource Allocation and Revenue Management processes. Business-partner to other business functions (Marketing, Sales, Accounting, Supply Chain).
The role is responsible for reporting, budgeting and planning processes as well as continuous internal processes improvement.
One of the co-leads and coordinators of B-F Turkey S&BP process. Driver of business diagnostics and forward focused analytical efforts to support decision making, action planning and profitable growth. Manager, advisor and coach of one direct report.
What You Can Expect
Financial Planning & Analysis
Together with the Finance Manager and the area commercial leadership teams, build annual budget and subsequent projections into B-F planning systems. This includes thoroughly understanding B-F planning processes and systems and ensuring data is submitted timely and accurately.
Responsible for identifying and explaining key drivers for variances vs. last year and vs. budget/projections, including monthly assessment of risks and upsides vs. the latest projection.
Support the development of long-term strategic plans and multi-year investment case proposals.
Independently work with Europe Financial Planning and Accounting teams as needed to resolve issues.
Support the preparation of presentations, analyses and documents, including White Papers, relating to the budgets, projections and long term plans.
Support supply chain processes by ensuring alignment of forecasted volumes, by monitoring inventory levels, and by maintaining close working relationships with distributors and B-F supply chain teams.
Commercial Support and Analytical Insights
Maintain knowledge of external industry trends, utilizing data sources such as Nielsen and IWSR.
Through hindsight analytics and forward looking scenario analysis, support decision making in areas such as volume, pricing, margin control, investment efficiency and new SKU introductions.
Maintain and analyze price structures/value chain for each market, ensuring the structures properly reflect the current market conditions, provide recommendations (transfer prices, margins, shelf pricing, taxes, etc.).
Build finance awareness across all departments to enhance financial acumen among sales/marketing/supply chain
Financial Management & Controllership
Perform monthly management reporting and review.
Participate in and lead financial aspects of monthly business reviews.
Track, analyze and report on discounting, brand expense and SG&A spending to ensure that internal and external stakeholders are informed and remain within budgets/projections.
Meet regularly with the teams to review performance vs. budgets/projections and to understand outstanding spend commitments.
Support LT team during the S&BP process
Lead Finance part of S&BP and finance part during executive meeting
Continuously challenge and improve business processes in order to ensure efficiency
Responsible for integrity of data, variance analysis and management reports, and key liaison with the European Financial Planning team
P&L ownership and close collaboration with the Accounting team to ensure our financial results are accurately reported (proper expense classification within the P&L line items, properly supported accruals, monitoring of receivables, etc.).
Act as key financial contact for distributor partners, taking part in business reviews, planning meetings, trade visits, etc..
Perform annual margin and distributor performance bonus reconciliations.
Ad hoc projects
Provide ad hoc support for the Turkey team on special projects, such as systems implementations, market deep dives and strategic plan developments, etc..
What You Bring to the Table
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field or equivalent experience.
At least 3 years of relevant experience
Demonstrated ability to make decisions independently based on logical assumptions and factual information.
Advanced PC skills, including Excel and Google Suite (Slides, Docs, Sheets etc)
Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects to completion by agreed deadlines.
Familiar working with foreign currencies, exchange rates, and conversion factors.
Fluent business English and Turkish, both spoken and written.
