Meaningful Work From Day One
The Associate Brand Manager is responsible for supporting the creation, execution, and evaluation of innovative and effective brand-building, marketing, advertising, and promotional programs and will have full ownership of their implementation while owning selected projects from start to finish. In addition, this role is accountable for the creation of business building ideas and for activating the brands’ annual marketing plan with our partner, Pabst Brewing Company (PBC), and within the Brown-Forman sales organization as applicable. This entails collaborating with, and often directing through critical conversations, multiple internal and external contacts including sales partners, agencies, consumers, distributors and retailers. This ABM will be an expert in the fast moving category of RTDs by partnering with the insights team and business and distributor partners to stay abreast of industry news, serving as a conduit between the brands and all stakeholders.
What You Can Expect
Strategic Partnership Management
Support concept and brief writing with Pabst partners to bring new products to market, ensuring alignment across all internal stakeholder groups through adherence to the Pabst/ BF Innovation Gate Process.
Work with US and Global brand teams to ensure that all promotional items adhere to B-F equity guidelines.
Serve as a connection point to the Jack Daniel’s and El Jimador brand teams, creating consistent communication cadence and processes.
Act as primary facilitator of meetings between B-F and PBC, including business reviews, ideation and relationship building.
Connect and cultivate relationships across functional areas where synergies between B-F and PBC may exist, including special events, National Accounts, licensing and e-comm, Technical Services and Insights.
Portfolio Strategy / Product Development and Commercialization
Support Project Management Office process through development and rollout of additional RTD innovation in the US.
Develop winning promotional platforms that solve business issues and better meet the markets’ needs, owning the sales promotion process for below-the-line activities.
Work with key stakeholders to identify and source brand-appropriate tool kits.
Work with National Accounts and field teams to develop sales promotion tools that amplify and extend brand messages and create consistency across innovation products in the US.
Work with B-F Commercial Teams, including Marketing Managers, to execute local branding opportunities.
Partner with the Integrated Marketing Communications team to develop CRM and digital programs that drive consistent 360 messaging around promotional platforms.
Support RTD Director in development of agency SOW, budgets, contracts and creative development as needed.
Conduct effective two-way communication, develop action plans, write project briefs, conduct annual SWOT analysis, provide key learnings, give professional feedback, and share project evaluation.
What You Bring to the Table
A minimum of 5 years relevant marketing experience in a consumer goods environment, with a particular focus on new product commercialization and innovation.
Demonstrated success managing external partnerships.
Demonstrated success developing, executing and managing brand programs.
Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to articulate well and create clear images through words.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to operate effectively in a highly collaborative environment.
Experience working with agencies.
Demonstrated ability to influence internal and external partners.
Demonstrated ability to develop and execute innovative “big ideas” that grow brands.
Strong analytic skills and the ability to turn insights into actions.
Strong results orientation and demonstrated success managing financial resources effectively.
Ability and willingness to travel approximately 20% of the time, including some weekends.
What Makes You Unique
Spirits/beverage alcohol industry experience, particularly in the RTD or Beer categories.
