Brown-Forman Employee Resource Group Manager in Louisville, Kentucky

The heart and soul of our D&I efforts are our ten Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) working to foster and enhance inclusion throughout our company. Our ERGs are not only a support system and professional development opportunity for employees, but a positive forum for education and idea exchange to our company as a whole to build awareness, advocacy, and allyship.

Meaningful Work from Day One:

The Employee Resource Group (ERG) Manager will advance Brown-Forman’s Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) strategy by managing the continuously growing global ERG infrastructure. This role will be responsible for developing, embedding and sustaining tools, resources and initiatives that enable ERGs to fulfill their purpose at B-F by fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace aligned with company values, vision, mission, and business objectives.

Collaborating with the D&I Business Partners, the ERG Manager will work across the organization to ensure that ERGs are structurally sound (missions, executive sponsors, officers, goals, etc.) and that they are working to meet the stated goals and functioning within the organization culture. This role will also facilitate intersectional awareness and collaboration between ERGs and create platforms to drive meaningful ERG leadership experiences.

What You Can Expect:

Leads Global ERG Structure & Governance

● Partners with the Chief Diversity Officer to create and embed a sound infrastructure across ERGs around the globe, partnering closely with Regional/Site Leadership Teams and D&I Councils

● Stewards the ERG governance model across all ERGs, working closely with the D&I Business Partners for regional/site chapters, ensuring the organization remains structurally sound, effective and is setup for success

● Ensures alignment and integration of ERG strategic plans and programming with B-F and ODI goals

● Creates and leverages an ERG Executive Sponsor Toolkit to ensure clarity of

expectations; provides ongoing support to Executive Sponsors to ensure continuous D&I learning and development

Create Meaningful ERG Leadership Experiences

● Partners with ERG Leadership to support the Co-Lead election process annually

● Curates and deploys an ERG Co-Lead development program, focused on leading a volunteer organization and influencing others

● Builds agents of change in ERG Leadership by partnering internally and externally to curate and deploy relevant D&I education focused on building intersectional awareness and supporting the philosophy of ‘a rising tide lifts all boats’

Optimize Processes and Communications

● Builds, communicates and supports the ongoing use of ERG Best Practice Toolkit that includes: vision & mission setting, annual strategic planning, functional contacts and resources, etc.

● Facilitates meaningful connections and shared purpose among ERG leaders by creating opportunities for cross-ERG collaboration

● Leads the development of global ERG communications, collaborating with ODI colleagues and with the support of the Client Communications partner

● Manage and enhance ERG membership database, performance scorecard, and provide other metrics as needed to provide relevant data, analysis and recommendations

Enable ERG Success

● Establishes and maintains relationships with all ERG Leadership (primarily through Executive Sponsors and Co-Leads) to ensure comprehension and alignment of B-F’s D&I strategy

● Counsels ERG Executive Sponsors, Co-Leads and Steering Committee members as needed on aspects of diversity management

● Researches and monitors internal and external D&I and ERG trends

We Are Looking For People Who:

● Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive diversity and inclusion experience, ideally supporting Employee Resources Groups; Bachelor’s degree in HR Management, organization behavior or related discipline and global corporate experience preferred but not required

● Demonstrated commitment to fostering individual and organizational D&I learning and development

● Strong project management, problem-solving and change management communication

● Proven time management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment and organize complex information

● Effective communication skills, both verbal and written and the interpersonal skills necessary to interface at all levels of the organization

● Demonstrated ability to communicate and facilitate discussions across differences, demonstrating sound emotional intelligence

● Proficient in Google Suite of products, Microsoft Office with advanced technology skills
