Brown-Forman Temporary Senior Shipping/Logistics Processing Operations Specialist in Louisville, Kentucky

Scope/ Basic: Manages all processing related inbound and outbound traffic. Facilitates export shipment of bulk spirits and flavors to multiple B-F production facilities and co-packers worldwide. Manages all bulk spirits imports and related paperwork; to support the production of Brown-Forman brands including Jack Daniels.

This is a temporary position with a duration of 6-9 months

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates delivery and customs documentation for bulk spirits from international and domestic suppliers.

  • Receives all bulk materials in SAP and completes all TTB and customs required paperwork within 24 hours of receipt.

  • Responsible for coordinating and conducting all TTB required quarterly inventories of bulk liquids, flavors, and ingredients.

  • Actively participates in CI initiatives on behalf of the processing department.

  • Works with transportation partners to ensure tankers are spotted and unloaded in a timely manner.

  • Directs 1-2 hourly employees as needed to assist in the unload and load-out of bulk spirits and flavors.

  • Manages export of bulk spirits and flavors; including but not limited to assisting Heritage, Pinnacle, and BF warehouse with shipments:

  • Works with freight forwarder to schedule container delivery and pick-up

  • Works with export site to maintain an accurate forecast and delivery lead-time.

  • Communicates daily with Customs Broker to ensure paperwork is timely and shipments are not delayed

  • Maintains bulk spirits inventory to support shipments and LPO production.

  • Prepares customs, DOT, and TTB paperwork for bulk liquid export shipments to Co-packers and other B-F Facilities.

  • Receives and maintains proof of export documentation.

  • Maintains current DOT Haz/Mat, IMDG, and IATA certifications to enable shipments via air, rail, vessel, and road.

  • Backfills for processing PPL for vacation coverage.

Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in Business Administration or related field and/ or import and export logistics.

  • Certification to ship Hazardous Material managements (this can be offered on site)

  • Strong time management and organizational skills

  • Very Attentive to details

  • Good operating knowledge of SAP

  • Effective interpersonal skills; Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with others

  • Ability to work periodic overtime, to support a 24 hour operation.
