Meaningful Work From Day One
Responsible for the development and implementation of all environmental, health and safety regulatory compliance and environmental sustainability activities at Brown-Forman’s seven European production facilities in Scotland, France, Ireland, and the Netherlands. Responsible for driving the implementation of Brown-Forman’s EHS compliance programs and activities at facilities, including: auditing, monitoring, reporting, recordkeeping, and training. Serve as a technical resource for facility environmental sustainability activities. Develop and execute programs to minimize negative environmental impact of operations; seize opportunities for positive impacts. Maintain working relationships with various NGOs and local, national, and transnational regulatory agencies concerning relevant EHS regulations and environmental sustainability impacts. Drives responsible production EHS culture throughout the EU Production teams. Time allocated would be 75% Scotland, 10% France, 10% Ireland, 5% Netherlands.
What You Will Experience
Ensure 100% compliance of plant operations with EHS regulatory requirements.
In collaboration with site leaders and front line leaders develop, implement, and operationalize site specific initiatives, programs and process improvements to:
Support Global Production’s key performance indicators of SMQPDC, and lead with a Responsible Production mindset
Establish proactive Health and Safety culture and reduce risk taking behaviors to prevent incidents in the workplace.
Drive employee involvement and accountability in EHS performance at all levels of the organization.
Reduce injuries and illnesses, and champion continuous improvement programs to improve overall Health and Safety performance.
Reduce negative environmental impacts, and champion continuous improvement programs to improve overall Environmental performance and contribute to BF Environmental Sustainability targets.
Monitor EHS related costs (capital and operating), provide guidance to leadership on EHS requirements for capital requests, provide input into EHS related budgetary items, track performance to plan, and prepare reports and presentations on costs associated with EHS programs and metrics.
Develop and maintain excellent local and national EHS agency relationships.
Support and conduct EHS compliance assurance and BF Metrics audits and lead site teams in identification of sustainable corrective actions for resolution.
Facilitate EHS incident investigations to determine root cause and support site teams to identify sustainable solutions utilizing 5whys/7ways.
Create and coordinate or deliver highly impactful/interactive injury reduction and EHS regulatory required training.
Manage data on BF Corporate Google site and prepare reports as necessary.
Support BF wellness activities to promote workplace and home employee health.
Work with Global Security Director to identify, correct and maintain secure operations.
Serve as subject matter expert (SME) for BF European Operations for all crisis situations in regards to EHS
Supervise Dangerous Goods compliance and Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor (DGSA).
What You Bring to the Table:
Degree qualified in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Sciences or Engineering, or Civil/Chemical engineering plus significant experience leading EHS compliance programs in a manufacturing environment, including process safety.
Demonstrated/proven working knowledge of transnational, national, and local EHS regulations, policies, ordinances, and rules in Europe and the US on EHS priorities
Demonstrated inclusive leadership and excellent communication skills. Ability to build and sustain excellent business relationships internally and externally.
Ability to travel to all European Global Production facilities and/or other locations.
