Brown-Forman On Trade Business Area Manager | Center & Sardinia in Rome, Italy

This role is critical to lead our business in the On trade channel for the Center & Sardinia area, with the unique opportunity of creating the team that will be responsible for Sell-in and Sell-out. The key responsibility as a team member is to lead the commercial agenda for the selected area, engage/ motivate the team and drive the business in line with the Company's objectives and the channel strategy.

Meaningful Work From Day One

The On trade Business Area Manager for Center & Sardinia is responsible for driving On trade business in the following regions: Toscana, Lazio, Umbria, Marche, Abruzzo, Sardegna. Your first key task is to recruit, engage and inspire a team of talented sales professionals. Secondary to this, you will be responsible for leading the business managing both sell-in to direct customers and sell out activations in the best outlets of the assigned territory. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership/ management skills and a deep understanding of the spirits industry. The experience in working with indirect business models in On trade via Wholesalers is a plus. In this role you will be reporting to the Head of On trade and you will partner with the rest of the team to shape the strategy and to ensure the perfect execution in the field. The role can be based within the business Area assigned.

What You Can Expect

  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of sales representatives to achieve sales targets and business objectives.

  • Sales Strategy: Develop and implement effective sales strategies to drive sell-in and sell-out performance in the assigned area. Execute commercial strategies including pricing/promotions initiatives in line with channel commercial objectives.

  • Customer Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with key Wholesalers and on-trade customers. Direct management of key Wholesalers and On trade customers is required.

  • Market Analysis: Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to identify opportunities and threats.

  • Performance Management: Set clear performance goals for the team, conduct regular performance reviews, and support team development by providing ongoing coaching and constructive feedback.

  • Sales Reporting: Prepare and present sales reports, forecasts, and performance analysis to Head of On trade and Head of Sales.

  • Budget Management: Manage the sales budget for the area, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.

  • Compliance: Ensure all sales activities comply with company commercial policies and industry regulations.

What You Bring to the Table

  • Minimum of 5 years of sales experience in the spirits industry, with at least 2 years in a managerial role. Area Manager experience is a must.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.

  • Proven track record of successfully delivering sales growth in a similar role.

  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with direct and indirect customers.

  • In-depth knowledge of the on-trade spirits market and customer base (Wholesalers and On trade customers). Prior Experience in the spirits industry is mandatory.

  • Knowledge in developing Premium+ and luxury categories.

  • High experience in management and business development in multinational companies with complex distribution channels.

  • Experience in management and development of high performance teams, leading, motivating and guiding change and innovation in a large geographic area.

  • Adaptation of working time to business needs including working at night.

  • Good command of written and verbal English, Italian is a must.

  • Change management and start up approach are a plus.
