Meaningful Work from Day One

This newly created role will be responsible for delivering HR services, operations, projects and tactical support to the Brown-Forman Japan and BF Korea organizations. You will have a pivotal role in the change management process in terms of operational and tactical responsibilities. In addition, you will also implement HR strategies and act as a single point of contact for the employees and line managers.

What you will experience

HR Business Partner to Japan & Korea teams;

  • First point of contact in all HR related matters for managers & employees

  • Manages the HR function through coaching and counseling for employee relations, conflict resolution and organizational development

  • Facilitates team workshops

Represents the HR function across stakeholders;

  • Drives the Talent and Succession Planning process, providing key people insights and development areas

  • Working with the HR Director Asia to drive awareness and initiatives to support the Diversity and Inclusion agenda

  • Supports the implementation of initiatives to increase engagement and enablement within functions to nurture our culture

Leading the recruitment processes in partnership with Global Talent Acquisition team:

  • Working with internal stakeholders to identify recruitment needs identification

  • Leading recruitment projects

  • Managing communication & relationships with local hiring partners (eg, agencies, websites, universities etc)

  • Managing and participating in screening and interviewing candidates

Managing employee administration;

  • Supervising employees’ files & documentation

  • Supervising obligatory safety trainings

  • Collecting and supervising documentation necessary for correct employment and payroll processes

Partner with Regional People and Organizational Development team;

  • Drive the development needs of business units, including individual, team and organizational development

  • Partners with other HR colleagues and People Development team on HR Communications relating to PGP process, Global Communications and initiatives

  • Support the rollout of functional capabilities, and acts as a change agent to the leadership team to ensure solutions are embedded

  • Supports the onboarding process, addressing both immediate and longer-term employee needs

Other responsibilities;

  • Supports performance management activities, overseeing and monitoring the employee development plan process, providing counsel to managers and employees on the performance management process

  • Ensures the application of organizational policies and procedures including investigation and resolution of employee issues (if applicable).

  • Partners with other HR groups (Compensation, Benefits, Talent and Performance Management, and Employee Experience teams) to ensure complete and accurate processes are completed to support employees’ needs.

  • Partners with Payroll/Accounting on preparation and checking of the monthly payroll

  • Manages HR related projects for Asia as assigned

Your Profile

  • University Degree in business or related field

  • 5+ years of experience in independent HR position, preferably in generalist function

  • Japan Labor Law knowledge

  • Strong ability in exercising good judgment, discretion and maturity

  • High focus and attention to detail in handling confidential information and materials

  • Excellent communication skills across all levels, and ability to influence through facilitation and coaching

  • Strong organizational skills with ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment

  • Bi-lingual skills (Fluent English and Japanese). Korean language skills would be advantageous
