Brown-Forman Woodford Reserve Distillery Homeplace - Personal Selection Host in Versailles, Kentucky
Meaningful Work From Day One:
Responsible for coordinating, orchestrating and booking Personal Selection program experiences at Woodford Reserve Distillery. Responsibilities include, supporting Master Distillers and Certified Tasters with tastings and private tours. Work closely with Woodford Reserve production and brand team members to communicate overall needs for the Personal Selection experience at the Homeplace. Must fully understand the production process, quality, and maturation, and quality parameters set forth for the Woodford Reserve Personal Selection program. Engage in such functions or events as: on and off-site tastings, virtual selections, VIP tours, and hosting distributor.
What You Can Expect:
Serves as primary contact and lead for Personal Selection experiences
Develops and leads all Personal Selection tours
Leads designated VIP tours conducted outside of WRD normal hours of operation.
Communicates relevant VIP/Personal Selection information to the Guest Services Manager, WR Brand team and Tour Captains
Supports/coordinates with Master Distillers and Certified Tasters
Responsible for the setup and tear-down of Personal Selection tastings
Manages “special” VIP tour requests (i.e. additional tastings outside of the standard VIP tasting lineup)
Update VIP/Media calendar with visits
Call Personal Selection customers (24-48) hours in advance to reconfirm arrival time and manage nuances
Work with sales rep on any additional request
Supports the overall Woodford Reserve Distillery Guest Services team as needed
We Are Looking For People Who:
Must be at least 21 years of age
Must have or acquire State ServSafe Permit and be TIPS trained to serve alcohol at events and maintain certification.
Must have good knowledge of safety and security policies of Woodford Reserve Distillery in relation to media requests; specific understanding of areas of sensitive and dangerous components.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. (case of whiskey)
Must be willing to work weekends, holidays and some evenings. The current weekly schedule is: Wednesday-Sunday, but is subject to change.
Experience leading guided tasting experiences and the ability to educate groups on brand knowledge and history.
Demonstrated ability to taste and evaluate whiskey products.
Demonstrated knowledge of the distillery process operation; maturation procedures and a complete understanding of the entire process of making and aging bourbon.
Personable and hospitable demeanor
Demonstrated oral and written communication skills
Previous experience in collaborative team building and matrix environment
Intensive brand training
Demonstrated skills and ability to develop and maintain an effective relationship with people at all levels including internal and external; management groups; sales, marketing; wholesalers, and retailers.
What Makes You Unique:
Strong understanding of B-F culture and the Woodford Reserve Brand
External whiskey certifications (Stave & Thief, CSS, etc.)- Demonstrated knowledge of the history of Woodford Reserve and the family of products produced.
Demonstrated knowledge of the distillery process operation; maturation procedures and a complete understanding of the entire process of making and aging Woodford Reserve.
