Brown-Forman Woodford Reserve Distillery Plant Production Leader in Versailles, Kentucky
Meaningful Work From Day One Coordinate and supervise distillery operations, including milling, yeasting, mashing, fermentation, distillation, and barrel filling, in accordance with company standards and government regulations for a 1.7MM proof gallon/year site. Provide direct supervision and leadership for a team of eight distillery operators, optimizing individual professional development and team performance. Ensure a safe workplace by taking a proactive approach to improving and maintaining safe work conditions and practices. Under direction of the Production Manager, develop production schedules and ensure all personnel, materials and equipment needs are met.

Partner with the EHS specialist to execute projects to improve Safety
Effectively manage the incident response process
Educate the team on and ensure accountability for following policy
Manage and drive key leader metrics, including conducting Take a Minute for safety, performing area assessments and resolving all corrective actions in a timely manner

Partner with HR to fill all open positions in a timely manner
Proactively communicate key insights on team morale to leadership team and HR in support of continuous improvement
Communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, across all levels of the organization
Ensure uniform application of company policies and procedures for personnel, including administering and/or reviewing disciplinary actions
Manage operational performance against master schedule for area housekeeping and sanitation to meet or exceed plant KPIs
Ensure that all cleaning is executed per the Distillery Production Schedule
Partner with QC to monitor the quality of production, end products and operational performance and quality and area sanitation, supporting RCCAs as needed
Communicate with the QC team and Production Management to escalate all quality issues and ensure incidents are documented in the ETQ variance system
Partner with QC, R&D, and production management to develop and monitor all Critical KPIs within the Distillery
Ensure all new Whiskey samples are delivered to the QA Sensory Department. Monitor New Whiskey sensory
Ensure team members are driving toward a highly safe and clean work environment as key priorities for the site
Integrate within the team to support and perform, as needed, all activities related to distillery operations, ensuring thorough understanding of all work processes and requirements
Review, edit as necessary and submit time in Workday for the distillery operators
Communicate the daily work schedule and expectations for the department, coordinating with the work team to determine necessary staffing and support needs
Update, create and implement standard operating procedures to run operations accurately and effectively
Develop, implement, and evaluate job specific skills training for each individual employee, coordinating efforts with natural work teams
Partner with the HR, finance teams, and production manager to project required staffing needs
Partner with the Production Manager to develop the Distillery Production Schedule in accordance with the DPP
Coordinate stillage and grain loads to meet the Distillery Schedule. Record grain receipts and usage in SAP. Complete the monthly grain usage recap to the Manager of Strategic Sourcing/Commodities.
Partner with Maintenance and Engineering team, leveraging work order processes, Preventive Maintenance program, and other systems to optimize equipment and facility performance
Monitor and record equipment downtime.
Partner with Corporate Engineering to facilitate capital projects within the Distillery.
Manage daily entry to distilled spirits for the distillery into SAP; manage transfer of spirits to the warehouse; file Monthly TTB reports for the Distillery.
Partner with R&D and brand management to execute Master’s Collection and other yield improvement projects.
Partner with the Cooperage to order barrels to meet the Production Schedule. Ensure that barrels are unloaded and delivered.
Support team in operational problem solving, continuous improvement and standardization of production processes
Engage in TPM training and integration into Woodford Reserve organization and support ongoing efforts to improve OEE, exploring innovation in terms of technology, people, processes and systems
Utilize resources, internal and external, effectively
Develop as a continuous improvement leader within the organization, actively engaging in Continuous Improvement project and pillar teams
Leverage resources effectively to meet plant KPIs per budget standardsParticipate in budget development for the Distillery.
Proactively identify, analyze, and implement cost savings project opportunities in alignment with Production Manager
We Are Looking For People Who
Have an Associate's degree in a science discipline such as chemistry, biology, physics or engineering with a minimum 1-2 years manufacturing leadership experience, or, in lieu of degree, at least 4 years manufacturing leadership experience, preferably in the distilled spirits industry or equivalent job work experience.

Demonstrated technical acumen and experience with Google platform (Docs, Sheets, etc.)

Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective work relationships with all levels of personnel/external contacts
Demonstrated ability to manage and complete workload within designated time frame
Demonstrated mechanical aptitude to assess performance of equipment utilized in production operations
Ability to work flexible schedule and overtime as needed
Must be a self-starter that can work without daily direct oversight
