Brown-Forman Quality Control and Packaging Specialist in Lynchburg, Tennessee

Meaningful Work From Day One:

The Quality Control Packaging Specialist is responsible for performing qualitative and quantitative analysis of packaging materials throughout the bottling process. Review of materials for correctness and provide bottling operations support during material trials. Support and monitor Quality for special bottling projects. Provide shift coverage as needed for other Senior Quality Control Packaging Specialists.

Hours: Must be able to work on all shifts including weekends.

Typical hours work hours: Monday – Friday: 7:30AM – 4:00PM

What to Expect:

  • Monitor and collect data of materials trials to be reported to Manager of Technical Quality Packaging

  • Review materials upon receipt for correctness as compared to specifications for compliance

  • Monitor and provide quality support for special bottlings and/or projects

  • Review new materials according to specs. for compliance

  • Monitors repack and/or reselection of materials

  • Oversee reselection of finished goods and documentation

  • Daily monitoring of finished package quality and take appropriate actions as needed

  • Effectively communicate across departments findings related to packaging materials issues

  • Troubleshoot material and/or production equipment to effectively determine help eliminate line performance

  • Support vendor supplier programs through collected data and reporting of material performance Specialists

  • Ability to work across shifts and weekends to help with Quality Control coverage for absences of Quality Control

  • Support Food Safety initiatives throughout facility

What Your Bring To The Table:

  • Bachelor of Science or equivalent

  • 1-3 years of experience in manufacturing, packaging, and quality.

  • Must have ability for flexible work hours

  • Demonstrated ability to apply comprehensive knowledge of quality control tools and bottling manufacturing equipment to assist in troubleshooting and correcting quality issues as they arise.

  • Understanding of Statistical Process Control and applying it to the manufacturing environment.

  • Strong computer skills including Word and Excel.

  • Demonstrated communication skills—ability to clearly communicate technical issues to all levels of employees.

  • Interpersonal skills with ability to work as a team with JD production departments.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in the food and beverage industry.

  • Experience with glass containers manufacturing and defect identification

  • Knowledge of plastic, paper substrates, and corrugate

  • Professional certifications related to quality control and quality systems.

  • Knowledge of SAP software for inventory control and quality management.

  • Knowledge of TTB regulations as they apply to distilled spirits.
