Meaningful Work From Day One

The Distillery Host functions as an ambassador for the distillery and brand, providing quality guest experience to those visiting Slane. This role includes conducting tours through the distillery and tastings as required for all internal and external trade, distributor and bartender groups alongside supporting the public guest experience.

What to Expect

● Conduct tours of the production facilities and tasting experiences for guests visiting Slane homeplace.

● Host brand education visits for internal groups and trade visits including but not limited to distributors, media, on and off trade guests.

● Provide a complete guest experience for public tours including welcome host, storytelling, and retail clerk.

● Prepare and serve drinks including cocktails and hot drinks within the bar area.

● Promote sales of products through the retail shop and use of POS retail software.

● Work with Homeplace Manager to continue developing tour scripts and SOPs for training.

● Support training to all temporary/seasonal tour guides and hosts.

● Host events held at day or night and weekends/holidays as required.

● Ensure the Slane Homeplace is kept clean, tidy, and free from hazards at all times.

● Drive safety initiatives. Ensure that safe working conditions exist and that all programs and policies are effectively implemented and practiced.

● Ensure compliance with BF quality policies, standards, and systems.

● Support sales and marketing teams when required.

● Respond to emails, letters, phone calls and other individual requests as requested.

● Conduct off site brand education, promotion or tastings as required.

What You Bring To The Table

● Must be willing to work a rotating schedule to cover a 7-day/week operation, which includes day and evening work, including holidays.

● Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.

● Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with people at all levels including internal and external; management groups; sales, marketing.

● Demonstrated time management and organisational skills with the ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision.

● Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. (case of whisky).

● Previous experience in collaborative team environment.

● Must be fluent in English.

Preferred Experience:

● An interest in whisky or the wider drinks industry.

● Previous experience working in the hospitality sector.
