Brown-Forman Sales Director - Korea in Seoul, South Korea

The successful candidate will use their sales management and leadership skills to effectively drive the growth and development of both brands within all channels and people within the Sales department itself.

What You Can Expect

This role is a leadership role integral to the B-F Korea Leadership team. As a Leadership Team member, the Sales Director must partner closely with the General Manager and cross-functional marketing, finance, and HR leaders to steward the organization culture, drive a unified purpose across the organization, and achieve results.

The Sales Director leads the sales function in Korea with 20+ headcount, including commercial strategy, wholesaler management, key account management, regional and field sales, and sales operations. This role also co-manages the trade marketing team along with the Marketing Director. It formulates and guides B-F Korea’s commercial strategies and priorities, champions continuous improvement of our commercial capabilities, and ensures the execution of our plans. The Sales Director is accountable for developing sales people and ensuring a thriving & inclusive sales organization built on integrity, teamwork, excellence, trust and respect.

Success in the role requires an ability to network and influence external partners and customers, as well as build valuable relationships with local and global internal stakeholders, particularly with the Division Commercial capabilities teams.

The Sales Director will need to proactively identify and address issues to ensure the Own Distribution model is fully operational and effective, and will then manage the ongoing operation with attention to continuous improvement to drive growth and develop the portfolio.

Ordinarily, this position requires travel approximately 25% of the time. Travel is primarily domestic within Korea, with 1-2 international trips likely each year.

What You Bring to the Table

  • Significant sales experience with consumer goods.

  • Progressive Sales experience covering a range of sales channels & functions.

  • Ability to unlock insights from data and use them to drive growth with our partners.

  • Depth of experience in key customer negotiations and revenue growth management.

  • Understanding of top class sales operations and analytics.

  • Leadership skills, with demonstrated people management and talent development experience.

  • Sound knowledge of Korea wholesale & retail environment

  • Fluent in English and Korean both written and verbally

What Makes You Unique

  • Prior experience in wine & spirits or luxury FMCG industries -- lifestyle industries, ideally with Horeca (e.g., alcohol, beer, tobacco, coffee, soft drinks).

  • Sales of premium and super-premium brands

  • Prior work in an international environment, either working abroad or working in multinational (particularly American or European) companies in Korea

  • Managing in organizational structures with cross-functional matrices

  • Head of Sales/ Sales Director of a medium-sized company or head of channel of a large company, with multi-channel experience

  • Sound knowledge of Korean restaurant/bar environment
